The D-Link DFW-500 FireWire Adaptor is an IEEE 1394 compliant High Performance Serial bus Adaptor card with a PCI v2.2 interface. It allows the user to upload digital information from a camcorder to their PC, manipulate it with software, and then download it to a device such as compatible VCR. The adaptor is targeted at any user who requires an easy to use bus for connecting all types of digital audio and video equipment to their PC. With the D-link DFW-500 the user can send large amounts of data from one FireWire device to a host PC quickly and without loss of data. The D-Link DFW-500 provides the user with a very flexible, efficient and universal way to transfer large amounts of data from a FireWire device such as a digital camcorder or external hard drive to their PC.
Description
This technology offers transfer rates of up to 400Mbps for all forms of internal and external peripheral devices. Once the information is on the PC it can be edited and manipulated using a video editing application then sent to another system of a FireWire enabled VCR, allowing the user to produce professional style home videos and other audio/video projects. This simple to use technology allows for true Plug and Play connection, with automatic driver location and device configuration.
