Z8NR-D12 is a rack-optimized serverboad based on latest Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5500 series processor and DDR3 memory. With ASUS innovative features such as PIKE, Flex-E, EPU and so on, the Z8NR-D12 will be ideal for high-dense computing server, database, storage and virtualization applications. Z8NR-D12 is designed with front “Parallel-Balance” layout, with system fans cool down these two modules directly, the design also facilitates the smooth airflow of the system to get better thermal solution. With the ASUS optional PIKE providing slim-sized and flexible storage options, direct SAS RAID upgrades can be achieved directly via a unique slot—without sacrificing expansion capability. The ASUS PIKE further provides customers with multiple I/O solutions and RAID functions. The ASUS Flex-E Technology provides the flexibility to auto-switch between 1 PCI-Ex16 link (Graphic supported) and 2 PCI-E x8 link (for I/O expansion), allowing customers to use PCI-E flexibly. ASUS is the first company to phase in 6-Phase CPU power, 3-Phase memory power and All Ultra Long Life Solid capacitors on serverboard in the market. These features not only provide the support for high-end 130W CPU, but also delivers highly efficient and reliable operations.
