Summary

If you only have two computers in your network, you can avoid hubs and switches simply by using a crossover cable like this one. The crossover cable links the network card in one machine directly to the network card in the other machine. However, it cannot be used to link a computer to a hub or switch. To differentiate the two types of UTP cables, Sandberg crossover cables are blue.
